Psychoeducational Evaluations
What is a Psychoeducational Evaluation?
Every child has unique strengths and challenges. A psychoeducational evaluation is a comprehensive assessment that helps identify how a student learns, why they may be struggling, and what supports will help them succeed.
As a Texas-Certified Educational Diagnostician, I provide individualized evaluations designed to answer important questions about a student's cognitive abilities, academic achievement, and learning profile. My goal is to provide families with meaningful answers, practical recommendations, and a clear path forward.
What Is Included?
Each evaluation is tailored to the individual student and may assess:
Cognitive Abilities
Reasoning and problem-solving
Memory
Processing speed
Attention
Executive functioning
Working memory
Academic Achievement
Reading
Reading comprehension
Written language
Spelling
Mathematics
Oral language
Learning Processes

Rapid naming
Orthographic processing
Visual and auditory processing

Social, Emotional & Behavioral Information
When appropriate, rating scales and interviews may be included to better understand how emotional, behavioral, or attention-related factors impact learning.
Evaluations May Help Identify
A psychoeducational evaluation may provide information related to:
Dyslexia
Dysgraphia
Dyscalculia
Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD)
Intellectual Disability
Giftedness
Executive functioning weaknesses

Learning strengths and learning differences
While ADHD, anxiety, autism, and other medical conditions cannot be diagnosed through an educational evaluation, assessment results may identify characteristics that warrant further evaluation by the appropriate medical or mental health professional.
